The Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, speaking in the Legislative Assembly, said that in 2012 in 2060 apartment buildings was held overhaul, and the volumes of emergency housing resettlement increased by 35%. At the same time, 1629 elevators were replaced, which is 42%than in 2011, but half as required.
To increase the volume, replacements, according to Poltavchenko, it is necessary to develop competition, which will lead to a decrease in the cost of elevators. Negotiations are underway with Belarusian and world manufacturers on the construction of a new plant.
Budget expenses for housing in 2012 increased by 75%, but this year there are much less funds, which forces the city government to reduce the volume of major repairs and more competently dispose of the available money. In particular, in 2013, a regional overhaul system should be formed, based on a transparent rating of apartment buildings, taking into account the degree of wear.
