Modern India emerged only in 1947, before which it consisted of many separate principalities. Being autonomous, each mini-state had its own traditions and culture, and today each state of the country will show you something special.
Usually, acquaintance with India begins with Delhi, Agra and Jaipur – large cities in the north. This is the most popular tourist route, the “Golden Triangle of India”. Huge streams of pilgrims and tourists flock to the north to visit the holy city of Varanasi and breathe the mountain air of Shimla and Armitsara.
In the central part of India is its financial capital, Mumbai, and its intellectual capital, Kolkata. Moving further south, many make a stop in Bangalore, which is called the main IT center of the republic.
People fly to southern India to bask on the beaches of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The most famous national parks are located here, protecting the rare flora and fauna of India. In Chennai, you can experience Dravidian temple architecture, stroll among tea plantations, and then unwind with an Ayurvedic massage.
